Planela

Planela is a web-based planning poker tool designed to help agile teams run clear and efficient sprint estimation sessions. It provides a simple environment where team members can review issues, vote on story points, and discuss estimates collaboratively in real time.

The application focuses on reducing friction during sprint planning. A planning session can be created instantly, and participants can join through a shared link without creating an account. Each participant adds their name before joining the session, making it easy to identify votes and follow estimation discussions.

Planela keeps the issue being estimated visible during the session so that the entire team stays focused on the work being discussed. Teams can add issues manually or import them directly from Jira. CSV file import is also supported, allowing teams to bring in issues from other tools such as Azure DevOps or Linear.

During the session, participants vote using common planning poker estimation scales. Once everyone has voted, the results can be revealed and discussed to reach a final story point estimate. After the meeting, session summaries and statistics help teams review how estimates were reached and reflect on their estimation process.

Planela is designed to stay lightweight and accessible. The tool runs entirely in the browser, requires no installation, and is free to use without artificial limits. The goal is to provide a straightforward planning poker experience that helps teams focus on estimation and collaboration rather than managing complex tools.
