Cozy is a local-first journaling app for people who want a private place to write. Every entry is saved as a plain Markdown file in an ordinary folder on your own Mac or Windows PC. Your words stay yours: no mystery cloud, no server syncing your 2 a.m. confessions, nothing ever fed to train AI. You can drop in photos, audio, and video, tag entries, pin where you wrote them, and build your own trackers for moods or habits. A full-screen writing mode with soft soundscapes (rain on a window, a forest, the clatter of a café, a fireplace popping) gives you a quiet corner to focus. Look back through a calendar, or a map of the places you wrote. Write in any language, and import your history from Notion, Day One, Obsidian, or Bear so you're not staring at a blank folder on day one. Cozy is a one-time $35 purchase, no subscription.
