Revolt

Revolt is the chat app that's truly built with you in mind. It offers text channels, fine-grained permissions, mod tools, and bots, all while being free and open-source. Secure and confidential, it respects your privacy with no ads or trackers. Made in Europe, it features next-gen DMs and groups for easy communication.

The conversation centers around the dominance of Discord due to its extensive network effects and community support. One user expressed concern, stating, "I'm really hoping for an alternative."

Another recurring theme in the discussion is the preference of community admins for platforms that minimize administrative effort. Another user notes, "Community admins are the real consumers of these products, not normal users."
