LinGoat
Science based language learning for maximum retention
LinGoat utilizes a novel system for spaced repetition.
Spaced repetition has long been touted as the most efficient way to learn lots of vocabulary words as efficiently as possible. However, standard spaced repetition is not specific to language learning.
LinGoat takes a spaced repetition dataset and generates completely new sentences containing multiple due words. The user translates the sentence and LinGoat grades each individual word and grammar concept and feeds this back into the spaced repetition system.
Research has show that this approach leads to 4x the retention compared to standard spaced repetition: https://aclanthology.org/2024.bea-1.29/
This is without mentioning the added benefit of practicing full sentence construction which is usually impossible with spaced repetition systems.
